About the European Mucosal Immunology Group (EMIG)

The EMIG (European Mucosal Immunology Group) was founded in 1998 by European members of the international “Society for Mucosal Immunology” (SMI). It was created with the purpose of bringing together European medical and scientific expertise on mucosal immunity, including inflammation, allergy, vaccination and immune tolerance. In the intervening period, the role of the intestinal microbiota in driving mucosal and systemic disease has become a further major focus. EMIG aims at reinforcing international collaborations in these areas and expanding interactions with researchers in other fields.
